Sunday School – Sundays, 9:30 am

Brenthaven invites you to join one of our adult Sunday school classes. All classes are open and welcoming to adults of all ages at any time. We look forward to having you join us!

  • The Joy Class is currently using the Encounter curriculum published by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
  • The Willing Workers Class is also using the Encounter curriculum and biblical commentaries to help guide their lectures and discussions.
  • The Sojourners Class likes to use a variety of DVD studies relating to biblical issues, faith-filled responses to current societal issues, and so on ... and there is always chatting! They may also do studies of particular Bible characters, themes, or writers through lecture and discussion.

Cumberland Presbyterian Women's

Ministry

One of the busiest groups in the church, the Women’s Ministry are women of Brenthaven Church committed to the ministries of prayer, study, service, and fellowship. They meet monthly and can found folding diapers for Diaper Connection, serving food at Loads of Love, sending cards to shut-ins and those who are sick, and stuffing socks for the homeless. Every woman in the church is invited to join them.

Young at Heart

Young @ Heart is a senior adult ministry group that meets the 1st, 3rd and 5th Mondays for cards, dominoes, games, and lunch. They have also taken a few trips over the years.

Bridge Group

Want to play some bridge? This group meets twice a month for a time of fellowship around the card table. It never gets too heated and the competition is fun, with fellowship even better!

Creative Crafts

These women meet weekly to knit, crochet, paper craft and fellowship over lunch. This is open to all. This group uses their creative talents to produce items to raise money to support Sacred Sparks, a local homeless ministry. They have also sponsored an annual craft fair called the Creative Sparks Craft Fair.

Bookend Bookclub

The BookEnd Bookclub meets once a month to review a wide assortment of books as voted on by the group. At the beginning of every year, they choose the books and gather on the third Thursday of the month.

Fellowship Events

Fellowship is so important and Brenthaven offers a wide range of opportunities for fellowship. The annual picnic at Granny White Park offers a great outing for all ages. The Chili Cook-off pits the very best, trying to outdo one another while raising money Sacred Sparks. Game nights, trivia nights, potlucks, Christmas Lunch, and other outings make being part of the church fun and enjoyable.
